Last chance to vote in Parish Council 20 mph survey ending 1st June
It’s important to comment and fill in this survey, which is very short and will take one minute to do.
Your response will affect Parish Council support for a speed reduction scheme for Sandford and Winscombe.
Three good reasons to email ‘Yes to 20 mph’ to firstname.lastname@example.org :
- At 30 mph 7 % of all ages are killed, with 50% of over 60 year olds killed: at 20 mph 1% are killed, with 5% of over 60 year olds killed (Department for Transport September 2010)
- Crashmap data for Sandford shows 9 slight injury collisions plus 3 serious injury collisions over the last 10 years: Crashmap data for Winscombe shows 16 slight injury collisions plus 3 serious injury collisions over the last 10 years.
- Banwell Bypass traffic (from over 2000 new homes) plus induced traffic, will flow directly through Sandford and then onto Winscombe from 2024. We need to act now, not regret not speaking up later.
